Karl & Rudolf Obauer
Karl & Rudi Obauer have been running the Restaurant Obauer since 1979. Karl took over the traditional house in Werfen after years of top-class culinary excellence. Rudi, through further engagements with great chefs in France, including Emile Jung, Alain Chapel and Troisgros brothers, acquired profound knowledge of classic and creative cuisine at the highest level.
A few decades later Karl & Rudo Obauer are today regarded as icons of gastronomy. In 2012 they were additionally honored with the award "Chef of the decade". Many younger chefs, who are leading characters in top gastronomy today, have learned to master their craft in perfection at the Obauers in Werfen.
